Hòfi Mango

On 17 September 2022, Hòfi Mango opened its doors. Hòfi Mango is a natural park on Curaçao but is much more than just mango trees. The park is bustling with life and every visit is different. In this blog, we show what such a visit to this beautiful nature park can look like.

History of Hòfi Mango

Hòfi Mango is originally a plantation that went into work in 1707. In addition to mangoes, other crops, such as sugar cane, were also grown here. This is mainly reflected in the beautiful sugar mill that is still on the site. This mill is unique in Curacao. In addition to the Sugar Mill, the old distillery is still in the park. Nowadays this park is owned by Comedian Jandino Asporaat.

How it’s going now

Jandino has two main goals that he wants to achieve with the park. First of all, he wants to show the beauty of Curacao and that the country is more than just the beautiful beaches. In addition, he wants to inspire and motivate by showing that if you invest in nature, it can also look different in Curacao and that in this way you also contribute to a better Curacao. He also wants to start farming various crops in the field.

Visiting the Park

You can admire this amazing nature park in two ways. You can take a guided tour that lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours. You will be handled by a guide (sometimes Jandino himself) who will take you through the entire park and can tell you all about the rich history of the park and how they want it in the future. In addition, it is possible to explore the park yourself. Everything is accessible and signs guide you through the entire park. The duration of this is about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Future for Hòfi Mango

Jandino also has big plans for the future of Hòfi Mango. In addition to the desire to farm, they also want to open their own catering facility. Local and ecological are at the forefront of this. In addition, they want to organize events on major holidays such as Christmas and Easter.
